Lac du Jaunay, an immersion in nature

To come to Lac du Jaunay is to immerse yourself in nature. You’ll discover a wealth of wildlife both on and under the water. In fact, with its 114 hectares, Lac du Jaunay and its surroundings are home to a multitude of species. Lac du Jaunay is also a drinking water reservoir, perfect for drinking your thirst away during a hike.

Staying near Lac du Jaunay, you’ll be able to observe many species of birds, including grey herons, mallards, kingfishers and tawny owls. Other animal species inhabit the Lac du Jaunay, including otters and genets. An observatory footbridge is accessible, so you can see the different species in their natural habitat.

Activities on Lac du Jaunay

Nature sports enthusiasts can also enjoy a memorable canoeing, kayaking or pedal-boating experience on Lac du Jaunay. Motorboats and swimming are not permitted on the lake, as it is a drinking water reserve.

Lac du Jaunay, famous for fishing

If you love fishing, Lac du Jaunay is the place for you. Renowned for its fishing, the lake allows you to enjoy your activity in the middle of nature and in a peaceful setting. You’ll find all kinds of fish all year round: perch, pike, carp, zander, rotengle, tench and bream. Our campsite is ideally located for fishing, your favorite activity around the lake.

The pond extends over 114ha in a verdant ecosystem. You can fish for 2 main groups of fish:

Cyprinids, including carp, bream, roach and tench
Carnivorous species such as pike, zander, black-bass and perch

Fishing is subject to certain restrictions. You can fish all year round, except for pike-perch and pike (not permitted from the last Sunday in January to the second Saturday in May). Carp fishing is permitted at night. We invite you to come and enjoy a night out with your family or friends at Lac du Jaunay.
